I was posted to No 1 Radio School, Locking in 1959 as an instructor on the maintenance of coding equipment, subject to the Official Secrets Act, having completed a Ground Wireless Fitter course at RAF Compton Bassett and teaching course at RAF Uxbridge.
At the end of the 3 years I was successful in obtaining a position with GEC Telecommunications, Coventry in their Transmission Laboratory.
My final occupation move was in 1972 when I joined the British Railways Board headquarters as a telecommunications engineer, and retired in the early 90s. Duryng my working life I carried on part time education gaining ONC, HNC, MIEE, Chartered Engineer. My education started when I joined the RAF for which I am thankful.
